Supergirl and Thorn

I had originally drawn a chibi of Supergirl eons ago but never got around to updating it until now. So I realize there are a variety of costumes but this was the one from the original  image so I just went with it.

So while everyone else is drawing the new Batgirl, I opted to go back and redraw a picture of the lesser known Thorn character. Rose is a girl with a split personality Thorn.

Ok so a few days ago I went out and bought some protective bags and boards for some of my dad's old comics he left me. Back when he started collecting them in the 50's they didn't really have the same quality protective supplies as today so I carefully swapped them into the new bags. Well, either way I was looking through some of the comics he had there. I found that Lois Lane did in fact have her own comic book line under the name "Superman's Girlfriend LOIS LANE". Then I found another one with an actual female superhero. But get this she can't just be a superhero she has to have something profoundly wrong with her. In this instance she has a split personality who is the hero that her normal half doesn't know about. It's also interesting how closely she could be related to Poison Ivy which everyone assumes was a Batman character, but I've since found out was actually a character from some other show/comic, I think the Green Hornet maybe. But still you've come to see the artwork...Here's a rough one of Thorn from Lois Lane...

Princess Mari and She Hulk

Was looking through some of my Dad’s old comics and found the Micronauts. There’s not much fan art of Princess Mari so I drew some years ago. The art wasn’t very good so I redrew it today and decided to post it.

Another old sketch finished up. She Hulk. I wish I could use my more cutesy style on the cards I do but alas that’s not what’s asked for. Either way I kind of like this one

Clash of the Classics

The Clash of the Classics is the first book collaboration I’ve participated in with Tiki Machine INC. I chose to illustrate Jorinda and Joringle a story of two lovers separated by a witch who captures young girls and changes them into birds. Joringle finds a magical rose to help find and transform Jorinda back into a human girl but not before the Witch attacks them in her owl form.

That image from before, included in a poster that I've had sitting on my hard drive for a while now. Lots of flowers on these. I've missed drawing my own girls. Two on the right are mysterious as they've not been online before.

An old image from another poster that is not online and probably never will be. Demi style character versions of the girls. Originally, Zorilita was the rival of Rainbwice and Bunny was an enemy but I decided to change her role to another rival...This was to be a small back logo of a book until I realized that a certain site's free printing offer wasn't as free as they advertised, shipping was more than the cost of the books, so I just didn't use it.

My Little Pony samples

So, I recently announced that I am the cover artist for the Retail Incentive MLP FIM comic put out by IDW. It's issue 21 and comes out July 16, 2014. But these images were what I created trying out for the book. Some character studies, a coloring progression and a sample comic based on another work I had published.

So, originally I had written a short story for the final floppy print issue of Radio Comix' Furrlough. I needed to do a comic sample for something and so I decided to cannibalize the muffin story and substitute in the ponies. After all I had not done any more show style Cutie Mark Crusaders so I swapped them into the story. Because I had to make it a bit more kid friendly, this comic has no real ending like the official one did...but hopefully you'll still dig it. Notes, I had no official background reference so it's just a sort of kitchen setting and dang it was hard getting a mouthful pose for Sweetie Belle that looked good. XD I will not be doing any more work on this. Thanks for looking though.

GDG Cheesecake Girls

More older images revamped. I took out the cheesecake reference from this one as I just wanted to focus on the character. I changed a few things and thinned up the line art.
